Khans to Rule 2012

2 months ago I had predicted that Talaash would be the most awaited film of 2012, beating the likes of all other biggies hands down. Back then when I had predicted it, some of the readers took offence to this observation of mine, accusing me of favoritism. 60 days later I am having the last laugh. Its official now, as per a pole conducted by the biggest trade company of Bollywood, Talaash has been emerged as the number 1 film of 2012 globally.

Aamir has sold the rights of the film to Reliance Entertainment for a jaw dropping 90 crores, making it the most profitable business dealing ever.

Recently a poll was conducted globally by a popular Bollywood website to gauge the most anticipated films of 2012 and if the results are to be believed, the Khans have yet again dominated the market hands down.

Here are the top 10 anticipated films of 2012 as per a pole conducted globally.

1)    Talaash

2)    Ek Tha Tiger

3)    Yash Chopra’s next with SRK

4)    Dabangg 2

5)    Agent Vinod

6)    Race 2

7)    Once upon a time in Mumbai 2

8)    Heroine

9)    Houseful 2

10) Rowdy Rathore

If you see the top 6 films, it is clearly visible that the Khans are dominating the year completely. If Talaash is a winner all the way, Salman’s Ek Tha Tiger and SRK’s film with Yash Chopra are not too far away in the race.

Ek Tha Tiger is Salman’s 1st film with Yash Raj banner and has Katrina opposite the fearless Khan. This Eid release will recreate new box office history.

An interesting fact about Salman Khan, the satellite rights for Dabangg 2 has been sold for whooping 50 crores surpassing Aamir’s Talaash and SRK’s Don 2.Please note that the shooting of the film is yet to commence but that is not stopping the Dabangg Khan from earning big bucks. The film will hit screen on December 21, 2012.

SRK is coming back with his mentor Yash Chopra in a love story that co-stars Katrina again along with Anushka Sharma. The shooting is currently on inLondonand will hit screens on Diwali this year.

Saif is playing his cards with Agent Vinod and Race2. Agent Vinod is his home production and he is quite upbeat about the film. Race 2 is a sequel to his 2008 hit and has John Abraham as his co star.

Akshay Kumar who badly needs a hit may finally have a reason to celebrate with Rowdy Rathore & Once upon a time in Mumbai 2. Personally I have zero expectations from Houseful 2, but it may also do well.

If we talk about the actresses, this year looks way too promising for Kareena Kapoor. She has already delivered a semi hit with Ek Main aur Ek TU and has a list of promising films lined up in days to come. While Agent Vinod is arriving on March 23, Talaash is coming on June 1, followed by her most ambitious project Heroine in November. If Talaash will earn her a blockbuster hit, Heroine will bring her chunk of awards.

After Kareena, the year clearly belongs to Katrina Kaif who has Yash Chopra’s next with SRK and Ek Tha Tiger with Salman Khan. Both will be huge money spinners.

It’s been over 20 years now and the Khans are still topping charts. Fans love them to death. It would be fun to see who scores the final jackpot.

On part of Enzag, we would be promoting all the good films of 2012 along with a special promotion of Talaash, as mentioned in earlier posts.

So all you movie buffs, you have enough to look forward to this year. Start saving money! [Article View] : 2329
