Salary of Television stars

Gone are the days when television was looked down upon as a second fiddle to movies. Infact today most of the younger generations are looking at this as a serious career option, and going by the big bucks today’s actors  make it is truly a career to look out for.

10 years ago not many of us could imagine that TV actors can make millions, but today if you see the amount of money Television offers, you would seriously curse yourself for not choosing this as a career option. Of course needless to say with big money comes big working hours and pressure so all those planning to make a career in small screen do consider this as well.

We spoke of big buck so it would be nice to have a look at the top 5 highest paid actors of television. Please note that no one can predict the real amount, but as per reports the amounts mentioned here are close to actual figure.

Smriti Irani- she may not be doing a show off late but that cannot stop her from being the highest paid actor of TV. During her Kyunki Saas days, she charged a cool 1 lakh per episode with a shift of 8-12 hrs working almost 20 days a month. Trouble happened when she raised her price to 3 lakh per episode which made Ekta Kapoor show her the exit door from the show. Nevertheless she still holds the tag of being the highest paid fiction based actor of televison.

Saakshi Tanwar – she is currently playing the role of “Priya” from the immensely popular show Bade Ache Lagte Hai on Sony channel. She works 18-20 days a month and her per day charge is 50,000. Her serials have done well and she enjoys a loyal fan base, enough for her to earn approx 10 lakh a month.

Ram Kapoor – a heartthrob among women, this good looking star of Bade Ache Lagte Hai takes home a cool 50,000 per episode for his 20 days slot. He has been a part of other reality shows too but his loyalty lies with Ekta Kapoor. He has worked in films like Udan and more recently Ek Mai aur Ek Tu.

Ronit Roy – many called him the Amitabh Bachchan of TV world after Shekhar Suman. He became popular with serials like Kyuni … and Kasauti Zindagi ki. Currently he is in minds of people thanks to super hit crime show Adalat. He works 8 hours a day and charges a whooping 1 lakh per day. He was recently appreciated for his role in Udan.

Shweta Tiwari – she is no more the Prerna of Kasauti yet money is following her everywhere. This ex Big Boss winner was also one of the highest paid contestants appearing in the show. Her per day charge for daily soap is around 45000 and she works over 20 days a month. Quite a lot must say.

Wish we were paid as much as they are. But one must not forget that television is more hectic than films and chances of survival are not so easy. While we may go gaga over their salary, hard work can never be ruled out.

For those trying to make a career in field of acting, don’t rule out television. After all they are charging a bomb to enter your living room. Aren’t they?

that can be the only justifiable respite after putting in such efforts where even a few weeks of lackluster response can spell doom.
