So why do we feel more hungry in winter? There is a perfectly good reason for this. Because its cold , the body temperature drops and the body needs to generate more heat – this means burning more calories – which means we feel hungrier. That is why there is a tendency to put on some pounds during winter, as it is the bodies way to protect itself from the cold by trying to wear a thicker layer of fat. This season is nature’s permission to indulge our palette a little more and enjoy a few extra gustatory delights.
