Is it really a modern education

Today education has reached a very high level. In our surroundings we would find numerous schools, colleges or universities. Of these institutions some provide primary, some secondary and some others higher education. But there are some private institutions which provide private tutorship to the students as per the syllabus prescribed by the board under which they are studying, and infuse among them a spirit of scoring maximum marks in the exams.

In today’s age, an ideal student is one who aspires to score maximum marks in exams, let it be any way-by personal bonfire efforts, copying from the colleagues, and other such ways. Also, today some students are trying to gain benefit by the development of science in this very aspect. Scientific progress has brought out a new method of illegal effort-the so called ‘minixerox’which is quite popular nowadays. Through this, one can reduce the book prints into a relatively smaller size, so that the person can see the prints even without getting caught-very much like bringing down two apples in one shot.Alongwith this the personal talent of the students in this regard is very crucial.Considering their school as the apperentice of a sorcerevr, they get on with their work so neatly that it is difficult to doubt on anybody. In negligible cases, even the parents encourage their children to proceed in this manner. Behind all these, there’s only one target-scoring mark at the highest, by hook or by crook.

Now let’s discuss the so called humane qualities of this ideal student. In the marathon of scoring marks in the exams, today, such students forget that it is very difficult to do anything in a single stroke. A popular proverb clarifies it: ‘Rome was not built in a day’. Their utter disgust in such attempt proves the lack of patience persisting in them. Patience is priceless virtue. Patient people can turn round the table at any moment in their life, however difficult the situation might be. Whenever such students fail to achieve desired success, a dynamic change in their behavior sets in; may it be for a short span of time. They become hypertensional and those who come to soothe them seem like their enemies of centuries, and they misbehave with them. If we discuss the martial skills in competition, strict vigil is laid on the competitors’ way of studying, their preparations regarding the exams, their method of presentation, and similar others things. All these events indicate that if this goes on, then the real motive of education, which is to be discussed later, will certainly fall into bottomless pit of infinite history.

Now these educational instructions are to be discussed. As far as the big schools and colleges are concerned, it must be mentioned here that the administration of the above said is done centralizing the aim of financial gain. Sometime ago, say 2 decades or some student used to complete his primary education in 6-7  years, while 8-9 years are needed to do the same. This is the immediate result of the increase in the number of classes, and the action of the venom of the corporate cobra is as clear as daylight in this regard. The cosmopolitan schools have a relatively different approach, quite different philosophy, which is evident by the fact that greater emphasis is laid on a student’s innovation and co-curricular activities as compared to the studies. Some are inspired to be expertise in dancing or painting, while others are filled with enthusiasm to excel in sports or music, and similar others. It is admit tingly true a fact that these activities do significantly contribute to a child’s development; but the loss in balance is confirmed if stress is laid on either of the two, which may eventually lead to devastation of the qualities of a student in both the fields. Behind all these, the spell which works is the lust for gain of money .Amidst all these, there has been the advent of a gadget, which is proving to be quite helpful in the educational field. In this device, the subject matter is displayed on a screen, resembling a movie. Bust this is quite costly, leading to the increase in the school fees at a terrific geometric ratio. But this sea of fashion is expanding its expanse like conflagration. These digitized education waves are striking the shore-like schools, and thereby increasing their number considerably. But somewhere, the desire for collection of financial units is showing its effect. Precisely, it may be said that being blind in financial desire, some people have forgot the real meaning of the word ‘education’, and are trying to prove that the former is synonymous with another term: ’literacy’; due to which receiving education today is just a formality, with the help of which an individual can nicely pretend to be cultured in the society.

Today the absolute aim of students is scoring more and more in exams. The way the number of students has increased, there has been a proportionate increase in the feeling of mutual competition; and it is quite clear that the purpose for which the cultivation has been done since the Vedic era, that purpose is getting transformed rapidly and it is about to crumble the whole monument of education; hence, is distracting the whole human race from the real motive of education.
