Opening match Of DLF IPL season 5 between the two big teams Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians at MA Chidambaram Stadium, expected to be very electrifying match, but it was proved wrong when the defending champions lost the match by 8 wickets in 16.5 over.
All credit goes to young lad from South African team. Richard Levi provided some glimpses of his brutal hitting and raced to its maiden half century in Quick time on DLF IPL debut. He was well supported by the God of cricket Sachin Tendulkar. It was really a great victory, for Bhajji as captain registered his first win in DLP IPL 2012 with ease.
We can say it was really a bad show from the defending champions, team consisting of some powerful hitters like Suresh Riana, MSD, D.Bravo, Murali Vijay. Though they started off well with Suresh Riana’s quick fire of 36 runs from 20 balls but it was not enough to set a defending total in front of the Mumbai Indians. Middle order batting from CSK was horrible as they threw away wickets without troubling the bowlers much, providing three run outs. In their total innings it was really shocking to see the total number of boundaries being hit were 6 and only 1 sixer. Dhoni boys tumbled down one after the other, when they came down in the field to defend the small total. Their fielding standard seemed like they were playing gully cricket. Do you really think Ravinder Jadeja really worth 10cr. rupees?

I hope it would be an eye opener for CSK for their upcoming matches and would learn from their mistake committed in the opening match Of IPL 2012. It’s a long way to go and I am getting a strong feeling that Dhoni Boys would come hard and rock solid.
