Delhi Daredevils will take on Mumbai Indians second time this season in match 36 of DLF IPL 2012 at Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium, Delhi. Mumbai team will be very much aware of the fact about the last clash at their home grounds few days back in which they bundled out for just 92 runs and would be hoping not to repeat the same mistake in today’s match. Delhi team is sitting on the top of the table after comfortable eight wickets win over Pune Warriors.
It’s really good to see Shewag leading from the front, getting his form back which was missing in quite few matches. However, this season he seems to be playing the thinking game more often, and that reflects in his numbers at a strike rate of 151.28. It would be difficult to refuse the point that the appearance of their big players – Kevin Pietersen, Mahela Jayawardene and Ross Taylor – has given Delhi team a good confidence. Jayawardene starting the innings with skipper Virender Sehwag has clicked perfectly. And the information of Varun Aaron also being fit for the match will add an additional ignites to the Delhi firepower.
Mumbai, however, will get into Friday’s competition after defeating Punjab in last-over fight. Some bold hitting at the end by Ambati Rayudu and Robin because of Piyush Chawla who permitted Mumbai to win the match .Mumbai’s hitting, although increased with the appearance of Sachin Tendulkar. Though Rohit Sharma has conducted two match-winning innings – his 73 not out against Deccan and 50 against Punjab – Mumbai will want their No. 3 batsman to do that regularly. Mumbai bowling attack looks hopeless in the absence of Lasith Malinga, who is injured. The team also wants Muna Patel to wake up and bowl some good spells rather than swearing at his opponents.
