The moist dewy season paves the way for the beautiful winter season with the mild, warm sunshine & a clear blue sky. It is known to be the cold season of the year which usually starts from early November till February.
I believe this is the only season where people especially in India can enjoy a lot like starting from flaunting themselves in smart woolens, formals and ethnic wears.
With this seasonal change in India, the color of every wardrobe changes dramatically from light mellow shades to darker bolder colors. The beginning of the season marked with the celebration of grand festivals like Eid, DurgaPuja, Dussera, and Diwali – all opportunities to flaunt formal and ethnic attire.
Men’s winter fashion
Indian men look most elegant in traditional wear like Sherwani, Kurta-Pyjama.Sherwani is a long coat like outfit embroidered with thread-works or even zardousi stitches, worn with churidar.
The most formalistic rules in men’s fashion apply to formal attire. A simple white shirt with leather jacket on it, checks also will do well, or a smart buttoned suit with a tie makes a good formal winter day. Wearing a scarf with a suit is also a uber cool way for men to accessorize – but boys and men please get it right.
Guys, please make sure NO LOOSE COLLARS & Never wear a brown shoe with a black belt or vice-versa…..as they look ridiculous.
When we think about casual wear, a shirt/normal t-shirt with woolly pullovers or jackets, classy scarves, jeans & a pair of sneakers will make it all.
“Remember, a well-dressed man wears his elegance wherever or whenever he steps out of his home & winter is the best time to flaunt that as it is season full of rejuvenation.
Winter Fashion for Indian Women:
Being the most wonderful creation of God, Indian women look most beautiful draped in a 5m cloth around their body in graceful folds. Beautiful salwars or churidars with cardigans or even shawl with sandals also matches the season. Lately, I observed in a movie wherein a lady was wearing a kurti-patiala with a jeans/leather jacket…& that was a smart Indian style too!
Amongst the casual wear collection, leather or denim jackets, fashionable sweaters/pullovers, skirts made out of chiffon, silk, velveteen, cargo, cropped or utility pants, jeans capris and shirts made out of denim, silk or cotton.
Scarves and stoles are the most commonly used winter fashion accessory. There are many beautiful styles of wearing a shawl. Check out this excellent video showing 25 ways of wearing a stole or scarf.
Winter Skin Care:
Winter is also the time to take some special care of your skin. The scorching heat is over doesn’t mean skin will be safe in winter. Skin becomes dry, rough especially in this season. .Every day & night face should be washed with mild soap, cleanser or face wash, toned & it should moisturized with a good quality cream/lotion.
Lip balms should be used to prevent chapped lips which I believe is a part of our winter-wear. Many people suffer from cracked heels. Herein, I would like to share a remedy for cracked heels which my grandma used to do …Apply lemon juice on the cracked places & leave it for 10mins.then wash it. Moisturize with any natural oil or lotion & wear socks all the time. In a week the cracks vanish. Lemon is a good natural acid which helps to dissolve the dead & dry skin scales easily.
A beautiful glowing skin with a bright wear & most importantly a happy heart & mind result in best looks.
