Good news for Android lovers in India. Opening doors for new 3G users, Reliance and Google ties up a deal for new Android Mobile buyers. Based on this TOI report, all the new Android handsets will come bundled with Reliance 3G connection with free 1GB 3G data per month for first six months.
The offer is valid on all make ANDROID phones including Sony, Samsung, HTC and LG. Strangely; Google owned Motorola is not into this list. This offer will be active from April 14, ’12.
This indicates that Reliance Communications is pushing hard to get more 3G users in India. The best part of the deal is that, the phones won’t be network locked. You can switch over to any other operator if you want. It’s a great deal to grab if you are planning to get a new Android device.
In the past Airtel and Aircel have launched Apple’s iPhone exclusively, but their offers we baseless according to me. They tried to offer iPhone in the way its being offered in US with operators. But their plan was way too expensive. Google has got similar deals in US, Australia and Japan with Verizon and Telstra respectively. Reliance is going to spend Rs 30 cr in this campaign.
Sanjay Behl, Group Head, Brand and Marketing, Reliance Communications says
We are creating a dedicated help desk to which any android phone bought under this agreement will be mapped automatically.
We confirm the collaboration with Reliance to market Android devices.
